Aihara Model Co., Ltd.

Zenshichi Aihara is the founder of the Aihara models. At first, he had a "tategu" business in Senju, Tokyo. "tategu" is a Japanese wooden joinery such as a "fusuma" and "shoji".
In 1931, He began the production of the wooden model airplanes.
The second generation, Zenjiro Aihara, designed the plastic models. He showed his talent for modeling traditional Japanese culture such as samurai armor and castles.


The ZA brand is used in the early kits of the Aihara models. This may come from both initials.


Since the mid-1960s, the Aihara models logo has been used. The design of this logo is also derived from Z and A of the international maritime signal flags.


In the middle of the 70s, Aihara models went out of manufacture and sales, and concentrate on planning and production. Manufacturing and sales were done by Midori firm.
The logo of two companies are drawn on the kit of this period.
It is said that both companies have gone out of business at the end of the 70s because they had no successors.
