Zenshichi Aihara is the founder of the Aihara models. At first, he had a "tategu" business in Senju, Tokyo. "tategu" is a Japanese wooden joinery such as a "fusuma" and "shoji".
In 1931, He began the production of the wooden model airplanes.
The second generation, Zenjiro Aihara, designed the plastic models. He showed his talent for modeling traditional Japanese culture such as samurai armor and castles.
